  • Driver Education - Online Class + BTW

    The Basics: Students must be 15 years of age by the first day of class. Parent/guardian permission is required to take the Driver Education Course. See Registration Notes below. Course consists of State-required 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel lessons. The 30 hours of classroom instruction will be an online class. Students are required to attend all 30 consecutive hours of classroom instruction. The classroom prepares students for the written permit test. After successful completion of classroom instruction, students will be mailed their Blue Card and have 18 months to complete the Behind-the-Wheel portion of the program. Students are required to have their permit for six months, complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, complete and log 40-50 hours of supervised driving, and be 16 years of age before they are eligible to take the road test for a driver's license. Refunds minus a $75 fee will be issued upon request for cancellation. Refunds will not be issued if requested less than three business days prior to the class start date. For more information about the licensing process and a full list of program procedures, visit www.spps.org/drivered. Online Course: This class is being offered using the Google Meet online platform. Before registering, make sure your device meets the minimum requirements; view minimum requirements here: https://www.spps.org/Page/28967. MN State Law requires instructors to be able to see you and hear you during the entire online class session. Students should be an a quiet location free from distraction and noise. Make sure your device has both a camera and microphone. 1-2 business days before your class, you will receive an email with your online meeting information. Fee: $385 Payment plans: 1) Full payment at time of registration 2) $192.50 at time of registration and remaining $192.50 payment will automatically be charged to your credit card on the 6th scheduled day of the student's Driver Education Course. *A sliding scale option is also available for families in need. Registration Notes: Parent/guardian permission is required to take the Driver Education Course When creating your account, parent/guardian should create their own account and add their student to the parent/guardian's account. Courses Cancellation Fees: 1) Refunds, minus a $75 cancellation fee, will be issued upon request for the course. Only if an extenuating circumstance arises, may student miss up to 3 hours (1 class period) but missed class time must be made up within the quarter.     Gymnastics Mini-Camp

    Each camp has a specific age or skill level attached to it. When registering, refer to the name of the camps. Participants in each camp will be placed in a group that is appropriate for their skill level. This course is fully subsidized through grants from the American Rescue Plan.

    Gymnastics Team Auditions

    This class is for any former Community Education Gymnastics team participants, coach approved gymnasts or gymnasts from the Flips level classes. Gymnasts currently in the Team classes at Central do need to enroll in this class. The three-hour class will be run like a regular gymnastics class, and coaches will be evaluating skills and potential as they go along. Gymnasts that are working at competition level may be invited for a Team Placement. Team Placement tryout is not guaranteed to any participants in this class.
  • Handmade Pasta with Alfredo and Red Sauce

    Entering grades 6-9. Learn to throw together the perfect pasta dough and how to roll and slice it into pasta noodles and make an Alfredo sauce and red sauce to smother your freshly made noodles. This course is fully subsidized through grants from the American Rescue Plan.

    -For children 5-10 years old who have anxiety or are fearful of the water. Gain confidence in the water and work on floating, gliding, kicking, and learn the basics of front crawl, back crawl, and elementary back stroke. Swimmers will be supported and assisted by the instructor for most skills. Locker rooms will be available for changing out of swim attire after class. Showers will be available. Please come prepared to swim and free of lotions, and other body and hair products.

If you have some familiarity with rock climbing and bouldering or have taken a bouldering class before, this is the class for you. Bring your favorite grown-up and enjoy a day of bouldering! Take turns with your partner testing out your skills and challenging each other!
