    Intermediate Hatha Yoga: Iyengar Yoga Level II/III

    Expand your basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel with an exploration of data manipulation (sort, filter, fill, text functions, join and split data) and formulas and functions (absolute vs relative cell references, 3D cell references).     Yoga is something deeper than doing postures, but what is it exactly? The sage Patanjali (circa 300 C.E./A.D.) illuminates the larger context of yoga practice in his seminal philosophical text. The guidelines laid out in the Sutra-s are just as helpful now as they were a few thousand years ago. Fundamentally, they offer practical and specific guidance about how to develop clarity, reduce suffering, and stay connected to our essential selves. This workshop provides an overview of some key concepts, group discussion, and a practice with breathing and movement principles described in the Sutra-s. All levels welcome, whether you've just received your first device, or you've got the basics down and want to learn about video chatting, apps, need help accessing your calendar or email from your other devices or assistance with organizing and transferring information between your phone, tablet, or the Cloud. You'll have 45 minutes of private instruction time to ask questions and increase your smartphone/tablet skills! When registering you will be asked to choose the level that sounds most like you, so your instructor can make the most out of your time together. If you are debating between two levels, choose the lower level as the one-on-one format of this class will allow your instructor to move quickly through the things you know, cover the things you don't, and then continue teaching you new things.   • Mendota Walking Tour

    Stroll through early Minnesota History with a walking tour of the City of Mendota. Learn about the geological history of the land and also the abundant wildlife that finds its home there. We'll learn about the Native American history of the area through the early European-American settlers up to the present day. And take in historic sites including St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Sibley Historic Site, and the main street buildings of Mendota. Tour will cover approximately 1.5 - 2 miles. Wear good hiking shoes as the banks of the river can be muddy.   • Metal Casting with Sand Molds for Beginners

    The ancient art of sand casting can be used to create objects or art with bronze or aluminum. Design and create your door/drawer handle, light switch/door-bell plate or wall hook with plasticine clay, found objects, or a wood/foam pattern. Choose bronze or aluminum to pour your mold, and learn how to clean and treat your casting. $5.00 per pound of finished metal will be assessed at class and is payable to the instructor. Participants are required to bring and wear a face mask that covers their nose and mouth while at class. Gloves will be made available, and all tools and work-spaces will be sanitized. Class is at the WOW Mobile Metal Lab - an MTC bus turned metal casting workshop on wheels - located at the Casket Arts Carriage House. Parts of class will be outside.

This suicide prevention program complies with the requirements for teacher education training in many states. This program focuses on high school teachers and other school personnel.     Samosas and Pakoras - Online Course

    Please note the following date change for this class. Samosas & Pakoras - Online Course changed from July 11th to July 13th. Samosas, a delicious fried or baked pastry with a savory filling of potatoes, onions and peas, are a popular snack, appetizer or entrée in many parts of the world. Spend an evening on a virtual culinary journey as we make scrumptious samosas plus Nepali-style “aloo pakoras,” a potato fritter-style dish using the same samosa filling. This class will run through Zoom video conferencing. Please test Zoom on your device before the day of the class. To login to the class, copy and paste the meeting ID into your browser.
