1/2 Day Nature-based Pre-K
Explore the West Side's Cherokee Park, learning about the land, the history of the park. See the Mississippi River from various lookout points. Bring binoculars to observe the birds.
Tour is approximately 2.8 miles with moderate hiking through woods with few places to sit.
Good walking or hiking shoes and a water bottle recommended.
Tour will begin at the corner of Chippewa Avenue and Curtice Street.
*Tour Activity Rating: 4 (Extensive walking, stairs, standing)
Troy Parkinson has a love for nature and local history. As a documentary filmmaker by trade, he has worked on projects for History Channel and Discovery Health. After exploring Twin Cities neighborhoods for years and researching their unique histories, Troy is excited to share his passion and perspective on these walking tours.
