Family Puzzle Competition!

Assemble a group of 4 for a morning of fun at Community Education's Family Jigsaw Puzzle Competition!  


STEPS TO REGISTER:
  • Identify your group of 4 team members, at least 1 member must be 18 years or older and at least 1 member must be under 18 years old.
  • Designate a team captain (Over 18 years of age) 
  • Registration for the team should be under the name of the Team Captain (only one registration needed per team)
    • Registration price includes all 4 team members. 
    • There is space within the registration form to list the names of the other 3 team members, as well as a team name if you choose to have one.
  • Communications about the competition will go to the email address associated with the team captain's registration account

COMPETITION INFO:
  • Check in begins at 9:00 a.m. All teams must be checked in and at their assigned table by 9:45 a.m.
  • Competition begins promptly at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
  • Each team will receive an identical, 500-piece (bagged) puzzle not to be opened until the competition begins
  • Hands only - no puzzle tools (cutting devices, flashlights, phones, etc.)
  • Onlookers will be restricted to a watching area away from the puzzling tables and are not to distract or help teams with the completion of their puzzle
  • Participants may not approach other team tables or distract other teams
  • There will be no official breaks but teams are allowed to do so as needed
  • Questions should be directed to a judge
  • Food and beverages are allowed at tables but at your own risk.

The first team to successfully complete their puzzle and have it approved by the judges will win the competition. 2nd and 3rd places will also be awarded.
If the time limit expires before any team has completed their puzzle, we will count remaining "loose" pieces and determine a winner.

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. 

All teams will get to keep their puzzle.

Cynthia Schreiner Smith

Cynthia Schreiner Smith is an actor/writer/author, owner of her own tour company ( CynCity Tours), and a jigsaw puzzle fanatic! She has competed in and won numerous jigsaw puzzle team competitions since 2010. She is chair of the St. Paul Winter Carnival puzzle competition, the largest jigsaw contest in the country. Her team still holds the record for winning the Winter Carnival competition 8 years in a row. Her puzzle team was featured in the documentary “Wicker Kittens” which Sports Illustrated named as one of the top 10 documentaries about a sport you’ve never heard of. Her husband patiently tolerates her large jigsaw puzzle collection that has overtaken the family room’s large closet.
