SPPS Community Education offers a variety of classes designed for adults with developmental disabilities to explore interests, meet with peers, have fun and learn new skills!
School Age Child Care

1/2 Day Nature-based Pre-K
Youth or adult beginners are welcome. Learn or review the basics of reading notes, rhythm, technique and harmony. Students need access to a piano or keyboard to practice. These are individual half-hour lessons.
Sliding Fees: Our model for program pricing ensures that our high-quality enrichment classes are more accessible to our community members. We encourage participants to choose the price that they are able to pay. This structure helps our programs be financially sustainable and more equitable.
Sara has two Bachelor’s degrees in Music Studies and Music Therapy, respectively. She absolutely loves music and greatly enjoys the opportunity to share her passion with others. In her free time, Sara can be found playing and/or listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and reading. She has been with community Ed for several years and has loved getting to know the students and being a part of the St. Paul Public School community.
Mikkel is a member of American Federation of Musicians, Local 30-73, AFL-CIO. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, played 4 years in the 505th Air Force Band, and is a performing musician in the Twin Cities.
Mikkel has been teaching piano for over 16 years, and has taught with Community Education, the University of Minnesota, and the Perpich Center for Arts Education.
