1/2 Day Nature-based Pre-K
Explore introductory poses in greater depth and focus on breathing practices. Students taking this course should have six months of prior experience with Iyengar yoga. Bring three blankets, a yoga mat, a belt, and a chair. See your class confirmation email for more information on joining meetings.
Joy has spent much of her life following her interests in the theory and practice of yoga. She has been a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) for over forty years and currently holds a Level 3 certification. In addition to studying with senior teachers in the U.S.A., she has been to India several times to further her study of Iyengar Yoga. Joy is also a certified yoga therapist, registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapy. (IAYT). Joy is a member of the Department of Philosophy at Macalester College where, among other things, she teaches courses in Indian philosophies. She has taught for Saint Paul Community Education since the 1980’s and has a strong commitment to making yoga available to as many people in the community as possible. She teaches yoga because she wants to share something which has been so important in her own life and which she has seen benefit many others throughout her years of teaching.
