Minnesota is home to a number of amphibians and reptiles and some of these call the Belwin Conservancy home. Hike this beautiful and diverse area to seek out the reptiles and amphibians that live here. We will discuss their life cycles, explore their habitats, and discover what makes these animals so special. Prepare to hike on trail and off for a good share of the time. Closed toed hiking shoes or rubber boots, long pants, tick protection, and a water bottle are highly recommended. Tour Activity Rating : 4 (Demanding - Extensive walking/stairs/standing) "All Community Education participants are required to follow SPPS COVID guidelines (https://www.spps.org/safelearningplan), and all other communicated health and safety expectations. Explore the prairie of Belwin Conservancy and immerse yourself in the late summer colors and textures of the restored Oak Savanna at the Creative Center. Our walk will focus on unique characteristics of prairie flowers and grasses as well as cultural and natural history of the prairie landscape. Bring binoculars if you have them. Wearing comfortable hiking footwear, long pants for tick protection and bring water is recommended.
