Dr. Artika Tyner will address the nation’s current reading crisis and host a book drive to collect culturally diverse books to support the work of a literacy non-profit, Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute. Join us for the monthly "Readers are Leaders" event at the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center. Option to bring a culturally-diverse children's book.

Dr. Artika Tyner

As a Rondo native deeply committed to cultural preservation and arts-based community development, Dr. Artika Tyner is on a mission to uplift and celebrate the rich heritage of Rondo. Through her work as a motivational speaker, author, educator, and social justice advocate, Dr. Tyner inspires individuals of all backgrounds to become agents of positive change in their communities.

With a background as a law and leadership professor, lawyer, and nonprofit founder, Dr. Tyner brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her endeavors. She is recognized as a thought leader and innovator in driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across a wide range of sectors, including Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, healthcare providers, government agencies, educational institutions, and grassroots organizations.

Dr. Tyner's commitment to social change is evident in her tireless efforts to create a more inclusive and just society. She challenges individuals and organizations to confront systemic inequalities and works collaboratively to develop tangible solutions that address the pressing issues of our time.
