  • T'ai Chi Ch'uan- Online Course

    T'ai Chi Ch'uan offers significant health benefits including low-impact exercise, relaxation, stress-management, flexibility, serenity and balance. Each class consists of two segments: standing Chi Kung, and the practice of T'ai Chi forms. Students will need to be able to stand to participate in the exercises. A half hour of each of the following exercises will be presented: 1.Standing Chi Kung: A combination of breathing and body movements in standing positions to develop hand to eye coordination, upper/lower and left/right body coordination, and tendon strengthening. This series of movements also develops second-level breathing skills and relaxation by applying the philosophy yin/yang to fixed position movement. 2.Short Form Tai Chi: Using T’ai Chi Ch’uan form postures, this study includes learning the names and movements of the forms and understanding the principles of yin/yang movement. This class is being offered using the Zoom online platform.
