    Experience the power of relaxation, focus, and connection. Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art that emphasizes peaceful resolution of conflict. Ki Development trains unity of mind and body through relaxation, breathing, and movement exercises that promote your natural ability to respond to stress and conflict positively and creatively. Anyone can learn and immediately apply these principles. Students should bring a yoga mat to class.     Intended for students who have completed beginning or intermediate level classes. The primary objective of this course is to help students further develop proficiency in communicating in French. Students will review and learn new vocabulary and develop their grammar structures. Oral expression is a big part of this class.     Master the art of the French language in this fun immersion experience! Students will focus on more complex sentence structure and work towards fluency. The goal of this class is for students to leave more confident in their French conversational skills.     Vous aimez parler Francais? This intermediate conversation class is conducted entirely in French. A variety of fun discussion topics such as music, food, film, literature and current events will be chosen each week. At least two years of French experience recommended. Venez nombreux!   • Gardens In Bloom

    Live life in full bloom, literally! We’ll start with daylilies of all colors and styles at Springwood Gardens in Jordan, MN, before heading to the beauty and serenity of Normandale Community College’s Japanese Garden. Then it’s off to the Lakewood Cemetery, known for the notable people who are buried there, but also for over 50 formal gardens and 95,000 flowers! Lunch will be on your own at Southdale Center.     Yoga is something deeper than doing postures, but what is it exactly? The sage Patanjali (circa 300 C.E./A.D.) illuminates the larger context of yoga practice in his seminal philosophical text. The guidelines laid out in the Sutra-s are just as helpful now as they were a few thousand years ago. Fundamentally, they offer practical and specific guidance about how to develop clarity, reduce suffering, and stay connected to our essential selves. This workshop provides an overview of some key concepts, group discussion, and a practice with breathing and movement principles described in the Sutra-s.     Paddle boarding is a great way to get some exercise while out on the water, and easier than you think! Receive instruction, and spend most of the class out on paddle boards. A qualified instructor from Wargo Nature Center will be along to provide instruction and answer all your questions. No experience is required and all equipment is included.     Receive one-on-one instruction and learn how to get the most from your smartphone or Tablet! All levels welcome, whether you've just received your first device, or you've got the basics down and want to learn about video chatting, apps, need help accessing your calendar or email from your other devices or assistance with organizing and transferring information between your phone, tablet, or the Cloud. You'll have 45 minutes of private instruction time to ask questions and increase your smartphone/tablet skills! When registering you will be asked to choose the level that sounds most like you, so your instructor can make the most out of your time together. If you are debating between two levels, choose the lower level as the one-on-one format of this class will allow your instructor to move quickly through the things you know, cover the things you don't, and then continue teaching you new things.
