Cooking: Culinary Masters
YOUniversity class for students entering grades 6-12. Make strides towards mastery and create a foundation of culinary skills. This class will focus on the skills ever aspiring cook “must-know”. Practice how to chop, mince, pan-fry, saute, boil, bake, and stay safe in the kitchen. End the week with a collection of new recipes and skills. Limited number of 50% scholarships available to youth who qualify for free/reduced lunch - call CE office at 651-487-7383 to request.
Katia Cardenas is a graduate of Macalester College, with a BA in Psychology and Theatre. A professional performing artist and arts educator, Katia is originally from Sacramento, California, and has over 15 years experience singing, dancing and directing for theatre. She is also a skilled cook, with 10 years experience working in various jobs in the restaurant business. She is passionate about many social issues, and encourages student to find what matter to them. She aims to help youth take action to make positive change--whether they are making a play, or planning a meal, they can make a difference.
