Abstract Florals: From Site to Canvas
Start the day at Lake Phalen drawing sketches that focus on getting the gestures of plants. Creating an abundance of sketches teaches composition and color and allows us to explore different ways to put it into a final painting. After lunch we'll meet in a classroom at the East Side Learning Hub @ Harding High School, taking our morning sketches and creating energetic floral acrylic paintings.
For the sketching portion of the class bring a sketchbook, pencils, a sharpener and eraser. No specific brands or pencil grade required.
Supply kits for the acrylic painting portion of the class will be made available for purchase from Wet Paint Artists' Materials and Framing (located at 1684 Grand Ave, St Paul, MN 55105) five days prior to the start date and will cost approximately $70. Kit will include artist quality paints, brushes, palette knife and a 12x12 panel.
