Sahar Hassan
Sahar came to the Alexander Technique through studying voice to gain more freedom in her own singing. She trained with Brian McCullough at Minnesota Center for the Alexander Technique, where she serves as assistant faculty. She approaches working with students based on their individual needs, to help them find more ease in their day-to-day activities.
Sahar is a freelance singer in the Twin Cities and the artistic director of Ladyslipper Ensemble. Her CD The World's Highway was released in 2019 on the Centaur label, thanks to a 2017 Artist Initiative Grant. Recent performances include Bianca in An Opera Theatre’s The Rape of Lucretia, Countess Craven in Daughters of the Bloody Duke with Journey North Opera. Sahar was awarded a 2020 and 2022 Next Step Fund from MRAC and the McKnight Foundation, a Creative Support for Individuals grant in 2021, 2022 and 2023, as well as a 2022 Music in Action grant from the Richard Wagner Society of the Upper Midwest.
