Winter 2023 - Adult
NEW change: Wednesday's class at Central High School has changed to start on Wednesday January 25th, 2023.
Receive expert instruction in throwing pieces using an electric wheel. Clay and glazes will be used and fee includes supplies.
Please note: All work must be done at class during designated class hours; projects worked on elsewhere or with other materials cannot be stored on-site or fired in our kilns.
All Community Education participants are required to follow SPPS COVID guidelines (https://www.spps.org/safelearningplan), and all other communicated health and safety expectations. Failure to do so could result in removal from the class/program.

Tom Cook
Tom received his BA in Art in 1989, his teaching certificate in 1993, and has been teaching art, primarily ceramics, at Harding High School since 1995. He taught ceramics for Community Education at Harding for about 10 years before taking a hiatus. Now with a new, improved ceramics room at Harding he accommodate an adult class once more! Tom enjoys teaching to all levels, has tons of ideas and can make just about anything out of clay.

Annette Huot-Link
Annette Huot-Link is an established potter and ceramics instructor in St. Paul. She received her BA in Theater and Spanish from the College of St. Benedict where she assisted master potter Richard Bresnahan. She then studied at the Northern Clay Center and later apprenticed under master potter Bob Eckels in Bayfield, WI. She aims to cultivate creativity and joy in her classes.

Mark Johnson
Mark received his BSED in Art Education from Northern Illinois University but didn't begin his work in clay until later in life when he discovered a ceramics class in Minneapolis. He seized this lifelong learning opportunity and delved into the rich ceramic culture of the Twin cities. After several years he began teaching with Saint Paul Community Ed.
