Abstract Acrylic Painting: Sketch to Canvas

Classes for Adults / Art & Music -
Fall 2021 - Adult

Explore the process of making abstract paintings, from the creative image/idea to a finished product. Each week we'll have an abstract art history lesson and do at least one painting to help you jump start, or revive an acrylic painting practice. In addition, create 3 smaller paintings (10x10 or 12x12) or one large (16x20 or 18x24).

Supply list is included in the registration confirmation email you receive after registering and includes a variety of drawing and painting supplies.  Not all supplies are needed the first week; please be sure to reach through all the notes.

All Community Education participants are required to follow SPPS COVID guidelines (https://www.spps.org/safelearningplan), and all other communicated health and safety expectations. Failure to do so could result in removal from the class/program. SPPS currently requires masks for all people in a school setting (ages 2 and older), including all teachers, staff, students and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, unless they have a qualifying exemption. This includes (but is not limited to) indoor fitness classes and during culinary classes when not eating or drinking.
