Civic Engagement 101

Classes for Adults / Special Topics & Events -
Fall 2021 - Adult

Are you interested in being involved in the political process but have never participated before?  The first step can be daunting, but this nonpartisan class will help explain how you can have a voice in the process and help make change.  Learn the basics of the local and state legislative processes from Nick Harper, attorney and lobbyist with The League of Women Voters Minnesota.

All Community Education participants are required to follow SPPS COVID guidelines (https://www.spps.org/safelearningplan), and all other communicated health and safety expectations. Failure to do so could result in removal from the class/program. SPPS currently requires masks for all people in a school setting (ages 2 and older), including all teachers, staff, students and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, unless they have a qualifying exemption. This includes (but is not limited to) indoor fitness classes and during culinary classes when not eating or drinking.

League of Women Voters of Saint Paul

For 95 years, the League of Women Voters has worked as a citizens' league to improve our government and engage all citizens in the decisions that impact their lives. The League of Women Voters - Saint Paul joins the efforts of 800 state and local leagues to bring nonpartisan political advocacy, education, and empowerment to the local level.
