Minnesota History Is/As American History
Discussion Topic: The Making of the Labor Movement
Between World War I and World War II, immigrants and their descendants organized and created voices for themselves from their workplaces to the ballot box. How does understanding the intersections of immigration, ethnicity, race, and class change our understanding of the driving forces in Minnesota history?
An effective way to explore broad national developments and patterns is to dig deeply into a specific, local experience. Join Peter Rachleff, co-founder of St. Paul’s East Side Freedom Library, for a deep dive into local history that is intended to provoke ideas, questions, and conversations about the very meaning of American history.
