1/2 Day Nature-based Pre-K
Payments for catalog advertisements and other partner transactions.
Grades K-5. In this two-class series, learn about Native regalia, especially the fancy shawl and how it represents the butterfly. Watch a dance performance and create artwork related to the theme of the butterfly! Also come discover the different styles of Native dolls and why some are made in a particular style. Craft your own doll and make connections to the qualities of friendship!This course is fully subsidized through grants from the American Rescue Plan.
Allicia Waukau-Butler is Menominee and Navajo. She has her Master's in counseling and is currently a school counselor at American Indian Magnet School in Saint Paul Public Schools. She has been involved in education for over 20 years. Allicia has been a part of Anishinabe Academy, the Bdote Learning Center, and was a Cultural Liaison in ISD 197. She is deeply connected within the Native communities in the Twin Cities and in greater Minnesota and Wisconsin.
